Questions people ask

Can it open my Word files, old .doc ones too?

Yes: .docx, .docm, templates, Word 97–2003 .doc files, RTF, OpenDocument and more, password-protected ones included. An old .doc is saved as .docx, and the original stays as it was.

Does it have track changes and comments?

Yes. Insertions and deletions are tracked with the author and time, you accept or reject them one at a time or all together, comments have replies, and Compare and Combine work on two versions of a document.

What can the AI do in my document?

Most of what the ribbon does. Ask in the chat: the agent reads the document, selects, types and runs the same commands you would, and each change is one step you can undo. There is no AI button in the editor itself; you ask in the chat beside it.

Does it cost anything, or need an add-on?

No. The editor is part of the free app and works on your computer. When you ask the agent for help, that uses the AI model of your chat, as any request does.

Can I export to PDF?

Yes, and to EPUB, a web page, Markdown, RTF, OpenDocument, LaTeX and pictures of the pages.
